Young Steinway Artist Leann Osterkamp has performed at Caramoor, the Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall. The NY Times has described her as bringing “descriptive color” to her performances. The LA Times describes her as a “strong” collaborator with “the desired flashiness.” She has recorded for Steinway Spirio and her recordings were featured by David Dubal on New York City’s classical music station WQXR. Her solo album The Complete Works of Leonard Bernstein for Solo Piano and her recording of John Musto’s Improvisation & Fugue on a second album will be released under the Steinway and Sons Recording Label in Fall 2017.
A collaborative artist, Leann was awarded a Stern Fellowship by Songfest@Colburn. She regularly performs with the New York Festival of Song and was named a Caramoor Rising Star Pianist, making her the first pianist to ever receive this residency. She has collaborated with Steve Blier, Amy Burton, Clarissa Lyons, John Musto, Ursula Oppens, and Michael Barrett. An active composer, her works have been performed internationally. She also performs for the Stecher and Horowitz Foundation and was featured in their documentary “On A Personal Note” on PBS.
Leann was named a U.S. Presidential Scholar of the Arts through the U.S. Department of Education under President Obama. She received her BM/MM from Juilliard and is a doctoral candidate at The Graduate Center CUNY on full scholarship.
